X86 - a computer CPU architecture developed mainly by Intel. (Also see: The Video Editing Computer: What is a CPU?).

Xenon – gas used in arc lamps that creates an extremely high luminous intensity and a color temperature approximately 5500 – 6200° Kelvin.(Also see: Stage Lighting Equipment ).

XLR Connector – cable connectors usually found on professional grade audio, video and stage lighting equipment.

XLR Jack and Plug – a three pin connector that carries a balanced audio signal.

XML - acronym for Extensible Markup Language.

XviD – an open source video codec compliance with ISO MPEG-4.
